About Walsall Museum

This friendly and welcoming community-focused museum is located in the heart of Walsall. Dedicated to the history of Walsall, the museum is home to a wide-ranging collection of artefacts reflecting Walsall's proud heritage, its many industries, and the lives of the people who lived here. In particular the museum houses the nationally important 'Hodson Shop' collection of twentieth century working clothing.
The Borough’s history is explored in the Museum’s permanent local history gallery, The Changing Face of Walsall, while an exciting programme of changing exhibitions celebrate Walsall’s heritage and provide an opportunity to showcase the vitality of Walsall’s communities today. The accompanying programme of activities for children and adults means everyone can engage with their heritage.
