Exhibitions, talks and a writing competition are set to be staged as part of a raft of events staged by Walsall Council for a landmark anniversary for writer Jerome K. Jerome.
Residents have been urged to find out more about an author who was born 150 years ago.
Jerome K. Jerome who wrote 'Three Men in a Boat' was born in Walsall and made a Freeman of the Borough at the height of his literary career.
But the borough has never forgotten the writer's roots with a series of venues all celebrating his life and work this year.
Tim Challans, Walsall Council assistant director for leisure and culture, said: We are very proud of Jerome K. Jerome and continue to celebrate this life and work.
Many key artefacts relating to him have been on permanent display in The Changing Face of Walsall gallery at Walsall Museum since November last year. The museum is open five days a week.
It's good to see so many things being staged in the borough which have been a long time in the planning.
A creative writing competition has been organised to celebrate the 150th anniversary of his birth.
Young people aged between 11 and 16 were challenged to write a great story using the themes of water, boats or Walsall.
