The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary is the centre for many conservation and rehabilitation activities benefitting owls and other birds of prey.
Established as a registered charity in 2001, the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary at Stonham Aspal in Suffolk operates a comprehensive facility for the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region, and the promotion of owl conservation throughout the UK and beyond.
The Sanctuary is also open to the public all year round as a delightful place to visit to watch, study or simply enjoy the company of Owls and other birds of prey.
There are over 80 raptors at the Centre, all housed in spacious aviaries and flying free in narrated flying displays or demonstrations.
You will also find Red Squirrels, the Raptor Hospital, The Barclays Sensory Garden, an information centre about Owls, a woodland walk with bird hide, picnic areas and plenty of activities for children including a mini-maze, adventure frame, chipmunks, the new MeerKat Kastle, plus the famous Owl Barn Gift Shop at Stonham. With the exception of the Woodland Walk during winter, the centre is wheelchair friendly.
The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary is supported by voluntary donations and admission charges from members of the visiting public. Please note that we are WHOLLY RELIANT on these donations and admission charges for the upkeep of the Centre, the welfare of the birds and the funding of our many education, conservation and rehabilitation projects. All monies collected are used only for this purpose.
