During the Summer Recess the Palace of Westminster, home to the House of Lords and the House of Commons is open for a one hour guided tour, which includes both Chambers and other great State Rooms.
The tour starts at Victoria Tower and ends in Historic Westminster Hall.
Booking the House of Parliament Tour
UK residents should contact their local MP or a Member of the House of Lords whom they know to arrange a tour. There is no charge for tours booked in this way.
Tours must be booked in advance with bookings open up to four months ahead. Demand is high so early booking and flexibility regarding dates and times are an advantage.
Facilities
The tours last around 75 minutes. It is advisable to leave time to visit the facilities prior to your tour. Accessible public toilets are also available at the nearby Westminster tube station. Within Parliament disabled toilets are located off Westminster Hall and Central Lobby.
Security
A number of simple security measures have been put in place for the safety of all our visitors. Please take note of them before and during your visit.
Searches, similar to those used in airports, will be conducted on entry.
