About Hawkshead and Claife

Classic Lakeland village. The village, home to the Beatrix Potter Gallery, is surrounded by beautiful scenery, much of which is owned by the Trust. This includes 4 miles of access along Windermere lakeshore from Ash Landing to Low Wray Bay. Claife Woodlands and the low-lying small farms between Hawkshead and Lake Windermere are typical of the area.
