Strutt's North Mill, Belper is a museum and visitor centre housed in Belper North Mill. The Museum was founded in 1996 with the aim of preserving the local heritage of cotton spinning and other local industries.
The collection comprises of machines which demonstrate the evolution of the cotton-spinning process and related artefacts and objects which are testament to other local industries such as the manufacture of stockings by the Brettles company. The Museum also aims to relate the the story of the Strutt family (founders of the first mill in Belper) and their legacy to the town of Belper and adjoining village of Milford.

This is a great place to visit. The oldest 'fireproof', water-powered, iron-framed cotton spinning mill that now exists. The design is the dasic of all todays skyscrapers. Nice Brettles textile collection.
