About Gloucester Waterways Museum

In the heart of Gloucester's historic docks, a museum that tells the fascinating story of Britain's 2000 miles of waterways and helps capture life in a working docks.
Displays cover many aspects of waterways from the ingenious engineering to home life on board a narrowboat, and from the wildlife of our canals to different kinds of waterways crafts.
Gloucester Waterways Museum is housed in a handsome Grade II listed warehouse. On the museum docksides you can see and climb aboard a range of different boats including the impressive steam dredger.
There are hands-on displays and archive films to watch and you can also take a boat trip on the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. All in all, the perfect day out for all the family!
