Cottesbrooke Hall dates back to 1702, although the identity of the original architect remains a mystery. There was further substantial development during the 18th century, including the addition by Robert Mitchell, of the East and West Bows in the Adam manner and interior features such as notable wrought iron work and extremely unusual Rococo papier mache wall decoration.
The contents of Cottesbrooke Hall include much excellent 18th century English as well as French furniture. Fine English, continental and Chinese porcelain is displayed, particularly in the Dining Room, Drawing Room, Library and China Corridor. However, the chief distinction of the house is the superb collection of Sporting Pictures evident throughout and known as the Woolavington Collection.
All of our tours around the House are led by our team of expert guides who each have a unique understanding of the building and its history. The maximum number of people we can accommodate per tour is 18. Places are allocated on a 'first come, first served basis.' The duration of our House Tours are approximately 45 minutes.
