Bungay Museum is situated in two small rooms of the Waveney District Council Office. It was established in 1963, and displays items relating to the heritage, society and businesses of the town. Archaeology includes Pre-historic , Roman and Saxon artefacts, and there are geological specimens and a model and pictures of Bungay Castle. Other displays relate to the prosperous Printing industry, coins and local trade tokens, and memorabilia connected with the family of a local Victorian philanthropist, John Barber Scott, and the novelist Sir Henry Rider Haggard.
